One of my favorite things to do is get a space ready to record, or find the right combination of gear (at the right price) to make a production both high-quality and as streamlined as possible.
The Rig
The mobile streaming rig is an all-in-one video switcher and audio mixer designed to facilitate both livestream and hybrid (in-person and virtual) events. It consists of:
- 2 ATEM Mini Pro video switcher
- TASCAM MZ-372 audio mixer
- 6 wireless mic receivers
- Custom I/O Panels for connecting HDMI, audio, and USB-C cables
- A small Windows PC to run Bitfocus Companion & control settings on the ATEM units
- A monitor
- A power supply
- and much more…
- All inside an SKB 4U rack mount rolling case.
The Rig allows us to pull up to a shoot, plug in power and connect cameras and other HDMI inputs, connect a single USB to a host computer, and we’re ready to stream.
The dual ATEM switchers allow us to control both broadcast & in-room content separately, so we can deliver the best experience possible for both audiences.

Mobile Video Podcast
A former client wanted a three-camera video podcast that could either be set up in a studio / permanent space or be easily moved for remote recordings. Utilizing a Zoom LiveTrak L-8, ATEM Mini Pro, Canon HF G70 cameras, and Pre-Sonus PD-70 mics, we created a setup that was high-quality, affordable, and portable.

Recording on-location always presents interesting challenges. However, with the right equipment you can set yourself up for success before even turning on the lights.
Multi-Function Space
Often, especially in office settings, there just isn’t a spare room to dedicate for production. Permanent decorations or changes to walls and spaces are also typically not feasible. However, with the right equipment like collapsible stands or light and camera set-ups on rolling stands, accent lighting, and the right mics for the space, any open room can be turned into a temporary studio.
